The Tuscarawas County Beekeepers will meet on Thursday, September 9 at 7 p.m. at the Winfield United Methodist Church.

The Sugarcreek Business Association Annual Golf Outing is set for Friday, September 10 beginning at 11 a.m. at Willandale Golf Course in Sugarcreek. Cost is $55 per golfer and includes 18 holes of golf and steak dinner. Tickets for the dinner are also available. For more info, call 330-308-6894.

Homes for Holmes Poker Run is set for Saturday, September 11. Registration begins at Whispering Hills Campground. The first vehicle out will be at 10:30 a.m. Ride ends at Glenmont City Park. A Tribute to the Red, White and Blue Car Show will be held at the Holmes County Flea Market on Saturday, September 11. Registration is from 10 a.m. until noon. The Stumptown Steam Threshers will hold their 48th annual reunion and show on Saturday, September 11 and Sunday, September 12 at the club’s grounds located on Ohio 519, 1 mile west of New Athens, between US 22 and Ohio Route 9. A pasture walk is planned for Saturday, September 11 in conjunction with an Ag Expo in Carrollton. The event will begin at 2 p.m. at the Steffen Dairy Farm. 4th annual Hawaiian Luau to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Ohio will be held at the Petersburg Covered Bridge on Saturday, September 11 from 5 - 11 p.m. Tickets are $15 for a family or $10 for adults.

The Dover High School Marching Tornadoes will host the 39th annual Band Preview Show on Saturday, September 11 beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Crater Stadium. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held inside Dover High School.

Wilmot Fire and Rescue will hold an all you can eat ham dinner that includes scalloped potatoes, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw, dinner rolls, pie and beverage on Sunday, September 12 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 4 - 10. The Holmes County Home will hold a benefit volleyball tournament on Friday, September 17. Teams are wanted. The Fall Harvest Festival will be held at Dutch Valley in Sugarcreek on Friday, September 17 and Saturday, September 18. There will be a chili cookoff as well as a pumpkin dessert contest. A cornhole tournament is in the works and there will be plenty of children’s activities.

Lehman’s in Kidron will hold a 55th anniversary celebration on Saturday, September 18 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. There will be apple butter making and entertainment.

The American Legion Post 494, of Sugarcreek announces their Fall Family Fish Fry Schedule as follows: Saturday, September 18; Friday, October 1 and Saturday, October 2; Saturday, October 16; Saturday, November 6 and Saturday, November 27. The public is invited to all these fries that run from 4 - 7 p.m.

A hunter education class will be held at the Fredericksburg library on September 20, 21, 23 and 27 from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. All materials are furnished. There is no charge for the class and no minimum age. Those under the age of 18 must attend all four classes to receive credit. Pat and Larry Lang, volunteer instructors with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, will be the instructors.

Ragersville Historical Society has officially opened its doors for the season. The hours are 1 to 4 p.m. each Sunday or by appointment through October 24. Admission is free. New Historical Society members are always welcome.

Holmes County Humane Society members will be collecting aluminum cans from 8 - 11 a.m. at Rodhe’s IGA on the first Saturday of each month. Cans need to be bagged or boxed. Proceeds go toward the spay and neuter program.

Sugarcreek Community Arts Council is collecting “Our Family” labels as an ongoing fundraiser. Products with that label are sold locally at Walnut Creek Cheese and Buehler’s. The Garaway Local School District is locating and evaluating children from birth through 21 years of age in an effort to serve people with disabilities, including developmental delays, health impairments, autism and traumatic brain injury. Individuals may contact Garaway Local Schools about children who may have a disability and may be eligible for special education services.
